Happy Orthodox Christmas!

Annunciation Cathedral

Today is Orthodox Christmas and our senior designer Julia Vasenina has put together a beautiful graphic inspired by the Annunciation Cathedral (Свято-Благовіщенський кафедральний) in Kharkiv, Ukraine. This unique, candy-striped church has weathered more than a century of complex history.

Since 1914, the Annunciation Cathedral has stood through the Russian Empire, a brief Ukrainian independence, Soviet rule, Nazi occupation, the USSR once more, and finally independence in 1991. Along the way, it has been many things: a place of worship, a school, a warehouse, and at times simply closed — but never erased.

Life rarely gives us a pause, let alone protection. Strength is not found in appearing untouched, but built through what we survive and what we choose to carry forward. We cannot just communicate ideas or outcomes. We must communicate experience to know the full story.

The Cate Urban Communications team looks forward to keep sharing our story and yours in this new year. Together we can persevere and thrive.
