In today’s complex technical landscape, disruptions can happen when you least expect it and without a moment’s notice. The “Crisis Communications” series aims to equip organizations with the foresight and resilience needed to manage the unexpected.
Inspired by Cate Urban’s experience at DEFCON 2025 and seeing technical difficulties happen in real time while presenters navigated disruptions to deliver a stellar presentation. Here is an example of how this speaker used humor and descriptive story telling to get through a presentation that was supposed to be mostly visual demonstrations that would not show on the screen.
